Happy new year!

It’s a brand new year for Apocalypse Kow and that means a new performing season. We’re starting 2014 off with a bang, as we’re gearing up for one gig in a couple of weeks and finalizing a second for March. I’m hoping we do more gigs this year because I love performing and I really like money. Oh yeah, and making audiences happy, that’s up there too. So if you have any events coming up that could use some a cappella ninja-ing, or you know someone who does, let us know. We have reasonable rates for a group with our repertoire and experience, and we are equally comfortable performing at conservative  fundraisers and rocking comedy shows. Heck, one of our gigs comes from someone who saw us at a black tie fundraiser at a Lexus dealership many years ago, so you know we can do fancy! Be sure to spread the word.

We had a big end-of-season planning meeting a while ago where we came up with a few big goals for the group. One of those goals was to sing the national anthem at a sporting event. That goal was realized. Another big goal was to learn 10 new songs for Fringe 2014. One of those songs is nearly in the can, which is good because we’re planning to present it at ChoralFest this year. Oh yes, did I mention Apocalypse Kow will be at ChoralFest? Because that goes towards another goal: more workshops.

And since our Fringe application is due next month, we’ve begun planning our Fringe show already. Based on what we talked about tonight, it’s going to be a fun one. Maybe not as ambitious as fixing a series of alternate futures or being stalked by an anti-music group, but we think it’ll be a great show. It had better be, since it’s our 10th consecutive year at the Edmonton Fringe! Now we just need to get in.

Remember that we always have Kow merchandise available. If you want to purchase something, use the store function on our website. Looking forward to singing for y’all soon. Stay tuned for info on a potential Spring Fling concert this year.
