This weekend is the last weekend of the Apocalypse Kow Christmas Album crowdfunding effort! If you have been waiting to see how we’ve been doing, well, we’re at 40% of our goal. With five days left. So, all of us Kows are asking you to help out with our final push! You want a copy of our new Christmas CD? Pledge at least $30. Did you want two tickets for you and a friend to all of our next season’s shows with priority seating? Pledge a cool hundo. Did you want us to perform at a place of your choosing for 30 or 60 minutes, and YOU get the choose the setlist? Take a look at our upper-tier rewards for that!

And even if you’ve already donated, even just spreading this around would be a great help to us. Did your aunt see us on the Fringe outdoor stages a few years back? Were your work friends at the Kaleido Festival for the past two years? Let’s face it, we’ve been performing around Edmonton for 18 years, so there might be someone in your extended network of friends and family who would be interested in helping out. Please share this, like this, let it out wide and far!

To everyone who’s donated already, we offer huge amounts of thanks! There’s been a bunch of CDs already spoken for, and one backer even will be joining us on stage to sing a song at a concert later on down the road! We really appreciate your donations, but we’re looking to keep on going for this weekend, and all the way up to the end of Wednesday!

Christmas album crownfunding campaign!

We’re 15 days into the campaign and feeling really great about the $1,325 that we’ve raised so far. Thanks so much to our backers!

We’ve had a busy spring and early summer with a number of performances, including our Spring Fling at the end of June, a Canada Day performance in St. Albert, and a wedding gig on the 5th of July. We’ve also been meeting on the weekends laying down tracks for the CD. 3 tunes have been sent to the producer and another 5 are just a little bit of editing away from being ready. Next Saturday we’ll be heading into the studio again for tracking on two more songs. So by midway through next week, we’re looking at having 10 tracks FINISHED recording! The finish line is in sight!

We still have a ways to go in terms of funding, so share the page below and tell your friends and family about what we’re trying to do. Also stay tuned as we’re going to be releasing a number of videos in the coming days and weeks!

Apocalypse Kow’s Kristmas Kabaret in Support of the CMHA Support Network

COME ONE COME ALL to Apocalypse Kow‘s Annual Festive Cabaret! Every year for the last umpteen years, Apocalypse Kow’s held a Christmas cabaret in support of several very important causes and charities. This year’s featured charity is the Support Network, Canadian Mental Health Association – Edmonton. 100% OF ALL NET PROCEEDS from this event will go towards the Support Network Distress Line, supporting mental health, its awareness, & promoting mental health advocacy.

If that wasn’t enough enticement, we are excited to have the sweet sweet vocal stylings of The Chickadeez as this year’s musical guests, as well as celebrity master story teller Adam Rozenhart. There will comedic sketches, a beautiful gingerbread house silent auction courtesy of Whimsical Cake Studio, a full service bar and kitchen from the Nest Taphouse Grill so you can get your “Eat, Drink, & Be Merry” on, and of course, the WARM GLOWING WARMING GLOW that only Apocalypse Kow a cappella can bring (or maybe it’s the mulled wine taking hold? Maybe it’s both!).

We hope you and your kin can come to our all ages show. If you are inclined, we would love it if you could share this event with your friends. Hopefully we will see you soon. Until then, we wish you a dairy Christmas and a Happy Moo Year! – JR

All is Bright Festival, November 21

Wow, what an autumn it’s been for Apocalypse Kow this year. As if it weren’t awesome enough that we got to sing O Canada at the Edmonton Eskimos game, we also got to walk in the footsteps of Edmonton history by singing O Canada and The Star-Spangled Banner at an Edmonton Oil Kings game! That’s right, friends. In case you haven’t been tuned into our social media, we got to walk out onto the ice at the historical Northlands Coliseum and start off a hockey game. Both organizations treated us extremely well, ad we’re hoping that we’ll be called upon again. And again. And again! It’s such a privilege and an honour to sing our national anthem at a sports event.

But we’re not through with 2015 yet. Our next appearance is this Saturday. Yes, we will be performaing as part of the All is Bright Festival on 124th street. We were asked by our friends at local comics store Variant Edition to perform at one of the post-Festival celebrations that are happening all around 124 street after the main Festival ends at 8pm. We’ll be doing a lot of old favourites and more recent hits, and a handful of holiday/winter/Christmas songs. And the best part? The show is pay-what-you-can! We will also be selling CDs at the show, which make for fantastic Christmas gifts for friends and family both local and distant. And Kow-zoos for the kids… or your friends’ kids!

If you’re checking out the All is Bright Festival, stick around afterwards and head to Variant Edition at 8pm for an Apocalypse Kow fun-time performance! The info is posted to our Facebook page now!
